Help Laura raise money

Thirty-six years ago, Le Bonheur Children's Hospital helped care for my newborn son. On October 17, I'm running to give back and help other children have the chance at a bright future.

On October 17, 2026, I will be running the Le Bonheur Pumpkin Run 5K for a cause that is very close to my heart.

In 1990, my son, Seth, was born with gastroschisis with midgut volvulus, serious medical conditions that required immediate and extensive medical care. He was born at one hospital and transferred to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital on the very day he was born. That same day, he underwent his first surgery.

Seth endured numerous surgeries at Le Bonheur throughout his childhood, including a bowel-lengthening surgery in 1993. As his mother, I experienced the fear and uncertainty that come with having a seriously ill child. Through those difficult years, we held on to hope.

Today, Seth is 36 years old and the proud father of two children of his own. Seeing him grow up and build a family of his own is a blessing I will never take for granted.

Le Bonheur was there for Seth from the very first day of his life, and now I want to give something back.

That's why I'm running the Le Bonheur Pumpkin Run 5K on Saturday, October 17. Every step I take will be for Seth, his children, and all the children and families who depend on Le Bonheur for specialized medical care.

My fundraising goal is $250, and I'm asking for your help to reach it. Whether you donate $5, $10, $25, or whatever you can give, every contribution brings me closer to my goal and helps support the work of Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. If you're unable to donate, sharing my fundraiser with friends and family would mean so much to me.

Thirty-six years ago, I was a mother hoping her son would have a future. Today, I'm a proud mother and grandmother, and I'm running to help other families hold on to that same hope.
